Good evening,

We need your input to ensure that everyone in Harris County is fairly and equitably represented on Commissioners Court (our governing body). Republicans are attempting a power grab that would deprive many residents of fair representation.

Here is the background: Harris County Commissioners Court is holding a special meeting tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. to consider plans to adjust the boundaries of our current precincts. (Harris County Precincts 1, 2, 3 and 4). This is part of a process which takes place every 10 years to ensure that population changes are fairly reflected in our governing districts.

Over the past decade, Harris County has grown substantially – and county voters now consistently elect Democratic representatives. But Republicans are trying to force the adoption of districts that would favor them – not the majority of Harris County residents.

For too long this county has been intentionally divided by precinct boundaries that deny people the opportunity to elect representation that accurately reflects the views of the majority of our communities. This has to stop.

We need fair districts in Harris County and it is important that your voice be heard! Please sign up to speak here. You MUST complete this form by 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, October 28 to testify in person or virtually.

Any plan that I support will be fair, legal, and based on public input gathered through a transparent, countywide public engagement process.

Please make your voice heard today.

The new districts will determine the direction of our county for years to come. We will continue to fight for you to have the fair representation everyone in Harris County deserves.

Sincerely,

Rodney Ellis
