Dear Friends,

All Harris County contractors and vendors deserve a fair shot at receiving county contracts. However, a June 2020 disparity study found that only 9.1% of Harris County's contract dollars are going to minority-or women-owned businesses. To level the playing field, the newly formed Harris County Department of Economic Equity and Opportunity (DEEO) is creating a more transparent and inclusive process that incorporates the county’s Minority and Women- Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) program.

Each year Harris County awards thousands contracts to vendors and consultants. On Wednesday, January 26 at 2pm, you can virtually learn more about how to navigate the county’s procurement and M/WBE programs.

REGISTER TODAY @ https://mwbe101contractors.eventbrite.com .

The Vendor Diversity team will answer your questions and explain how the Harris County Department of Economic Equity and Opportunity (DEEO) is operating its M/WBE Program. They will be covering the following:

  • How to do business with the county
  • Certifications
  • M/WBE bid documents
  • Good-faith efforts
  • Commercially useful functions
  • Post-award compliance

Learn what the DEEO has done so far, what they’re doing now and their upcoming projects on Wednesday, January 26 at 2pm.

Questions? Please email the Vendor Diversity team at VendorDiversity@eeo.hctx.net

Hope to see you there!
