Public safety is a top concern for all of us. To make our communities safer, Harris County is launching an innovative, community-based, and data-driven violence interruption program in Sunnyside. Being born and raised in Sunnyside, I'm excited that my childhood neighborhood has been selected as one of the first communities for this program.
Led by Harris County Public Health, this program incorporates common sense solutions to reduce our over reliance on first responders. I invite you to learn more about this program this Saturday, January 22 at 4pm during a virtual meeting hosted by Harris County Public Health.
This is only the beginning of the process. We look forward to engaging with Sunnyside community leaders and residents, before and after the violence interruption program launches.
